| A little about me: | I'm 44 years old. I have always been "healthy". Didn't go to doctors before last August, unless I had strep throat or something I needed a prescription for. I am being treated for Lyme disease; it seems I have had it since August 2008. I have only been on anti-biotics for 3 weeks now. I have been to many doctors; keep testing negative for the disease - even now. (5x) Have a wonderful doctor now! He says it's just wrong for a doctor not to treat one just because the test is negative! Because I "am" sick. I did experience the "herx" reaction. God enabled me to have some great Lyme friends, that walked me through that. I am not sure if I am still experiencing the "herx" reaction or not. Sometimes I just feel crumby, even this far out. I'm just waiting and recovering slowly. Praising God that some symptoms - headaches- seem to be getter much fewer!!! So glad!!! That's all for now. Wow! I wrote the "above" in June of this year - '09. I think it is funny, now, to think that 3 weeks was a long time to be on the anti-biotics; I am still on them. I had "plateaued" about 2 months out from treatment; meaning I have symptoms that are hanging on and not improving. So my doctor "changed things up" a bit with shots of Rocephin. Oooo! Major "herx" reaction at first, then sometimes not so much, then a major one, again. Have kept some "increased" symptoms now; things are a little worse in the "kept" symptoms. There seem to be a lot of "suprises" with Lyme Disease. I am learning not to be suprised anymore; anything can happen. Sometimes when things are really bad and I have to collapse on the bed and do nothing but breathe, I get scared. That is when I run to God in prayer, My Lord and Saviour Jesus. He is always there and faithful to comfort. I pray for all my Lyme friends, too. The Silver Lining of Lyme disease is that you meet so many wonderful people! I am so thankful. God Bless You all! Now, it is May 8, 2012. Wow, what a l-o-n-g journey! I still have Lyme, but I believe I am getting better! I am so thankful. I am seeing the best doctor in Lyme care. This month is my 4th year with Lyme Disease. I am looking forward to being finished- maybe in a year or so. I know many of you are suffering greatly and some for a long, long time. This is a most horrible disease! ...the way we are treated is even worse. Thank God for the few docs who "get it", and actually care. Well, that's all for now. Carol P. |
