DEPRESSION: The Bottom of the Mind
Written by kaylee
01 June 2011
I lay my pain to paper only because my miracle medicine is still illegal. Before 1992, twelve doctors proved in a court of law that Cannabis was vital to their patients’ medical care. The people representing NIDA and Health and Human Services still provide the few living patients with an ongoing monthly supply through their pharmacy. The rest of us go to prison.

A prescription for disaster: Pharmaceutical overuse in the U.S.

A prescription for disaster: Pharmaceutical overuse in the U.S.As more teenagers and adults in the United States use prescriptions medications recreationally, the issue is cited as a “serious problem” in an article for The Partnership for a Drug-Free America (2008).  Between 1997 and 2003, 893 deaths in rural Virginia were ruled “accidental overdoses of prescription medications” (Wunsch et al. 2009).  The deaths of so many people over six years may not seem to matter in the big picture, but there’s no denying that too many families in rural Virginia were forever changed by “accidental” pharmaceutical overdose (Wunsch et al. 2009).

If you are lucky enough to live in one of the 13 states with medical marijuana protection, you might be interested in reading this. While 11 of the 13 states have permit programs in place, information for the states without a registry program (Maine and Washington) will be provided. Some states even have dispensaries, and you will find that information here as well.
