Hello everyone my name is Scott. Im 42 years old and have a survivor of cancer in my family. My Father whom i love very much. He is 76 your old and in 2007 was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer of the esophagus which is 95% fatal. Hearing that a loved one a friend even a close neighbor having cancer is never easy. Not only is it hard on the individual but its hard on the family as well. My father went through five major surgeries. Im very happy to say that my father is alive and kicking. I have been through alot in my life. I am a survivor of an abduction and sexual abuse at the age of twelve. ( July 2 1979 ). In the year 2000 i was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. It was a difficult road but i have been stable now for almost nine years now. I even had a cancer scare the following year. And then the hard news about my father. My father and my family was always there for me when ever i needed them most for support. I am here to give you all that same support that we all so desperately need. I will guide you all through the difficult time ahead and lend you my shoulder if you ever need one. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Scott

Hi Everyone,

My name is Marilyn and I am 62 yrs. (young) old, depending on the day and how my Fibromyalgia/Hypothyroidism is treating me.

I am married and Sept. 4th will be our 43rd anniversary. We have 2 grown daughters and 1 super terrific grandson, 6 1/2. I enjoy fishing with DH; x-stitching when the mood arises; collecting teddy bears always ; spending time with family; flowers; and outdoor activities (campfire chats a must) and making new friends.

I am the youngest of 4 siblings (the youngest and only girl.)

I have worked retail my entire life, starting in a little dept. store in the town I grew up in when I was 15. When I married, I moved 30 miles away , applied for a job at Sears here locally and will have my 33rd year anniversary there come Oct. 1st.

I came to the Fibromyalgia group in April while awaiting to see the Rhuemy and the more I learned there, I was certain his dx was going to be 100% Fibro. Shortly thereafter, I thought ""well,if I found a Fibro Forum, I m betting there is one for Hypothyroidism"" and sure enough, yes, there is.

Being a Group Leader for these Forums is an honor for me and I promise to listen, help, console, advise ...whatever is needed.. any/all of you.I love people...I love making new friends. I love to help others in need and being a friend to all.

Together we can make this the best Forum possible.

I look forward to getting to know all of you. And, any of you may PM me anytime at all ... I am here pretty regular and will always reply .
