MDJunction to me

scotty04901"MDJ to me is an added phase in my recovery as a 44 year survivor of a TBI. I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

Hi! My name is Lori! I was diagnosed Reactive Hypoglycemia in April, 2010. The funny thing about that is that I have been on a high protein/low carb diet in the past for my fibromyalgia with very good results. I have always felt better when I did not eat white sugar, white flour and ate low in lactose (milk products). I am having a hard time with this like I am sure you all are. I love sweets! At the end of the day, I am tired and it used to be easy for a pick-me-up to eat something sweet. But, there is always that terrible sweating, fatigue, shaking, afterwards. Is it worth it? No! As a group, we can support each other and grow stronger and healthier.

On a personal note, I am married with 5 children (3 of my own and 2 step-children) and one grandchild. I have worked as a nurse for 30 years and currently am working with active duty soldiers coming back from war with depression and post traumatic stress disorder. I have a very challenging job, to say the least! But, I love what I do! I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you!
