I'm Amelie, though most of the English-speaking population calls me Amy since it's easier and am 22 years old. I've had congenital hydrocephalus since birth, because of this I have mild palsy on my left side, some short term memory loss but my most prominent disability is my visual impairment. However that hasn't stopped me one bit! I'm an avid runner, a curler (part of the Provincial team for Blind Curling - competing at National next February) and am a silver medalist in sprint paracanoe (kayaking) in the LTA (physically disabled) category. I joined this site because I had been experiencing some shunt failure symptoms which weren't like my usual and so wanted to find answers, or at the least some support which I got - as well as some new friends!
