Tretinoin, the generic drug name for Acutane, is being prescribed for some HS patients. I would urge any who are comtemplating it's use to go to the Mayo Clinic site and check out the uses and cautions before doing so. Especially if you are pregnant, able to get pregnant, as it has shown to cause birth defects in lab situations.
Go to Mayoclinic.com and choose treatments and drugs, to the right of the search box. Then click on A in the alphebet box to the right and scroll down to Acutane . After reading the information given, go to the bottom and click on Cautions of which there are many. Do not hesitate to contact me or another group leader if you have any questions. |
