Gastroparesis 101
Written by brittney1985
20 December 2012

This is something I wrote to help people who are diagnosed with this disorder. All of the information included is from many, many sites.... I wanted to put something together so that people could find out what they need to know without having to do the hours or research/searching.

For those of you who have and who will be diagnosed with Gastroparesis, I am sorry and I hope this will help you on your journey to better living.

I reworded all the information I found since most of it was from notes and I did write this a few months ago and since there were way to many sites to cite, I did not add them because it would be impossible to go back and find them all.

Food and Drug Administration Guide on Reading Nutrition Labels
Written by dkaj
14 September 2012

Here is another good site for general guidance on understanding Nutrition Labels.   This is from the Food and Drug Administration - Consumer information Guides.  This article is geared more toward the Adult Population when it comes to Daily allowances or recommendations.  It is helpful for anyone who is trying to get the most nutrients out of the foods they are choosing to buy for themselves and / or children.     This article does not have any recommendations for people with GP , reflux, or GI issues.   It is just general information for people who are trying to eat more healthy and want to better understand what everything means on nutrition labels, so they can make informed choices that best fit their specific dietary needs.

Also, this is good information for parent's with teens who are suffering from GP, so they can teach their children what to look for on nutrition labels with their growing independence.

Hope this is helpful!

How to read nutrition labels - pediatric recommendations
Written by dkaj
12 September 2012

I found this article and thought I would pass it along for any parents caring for a child with GP to give some guidance on how to make sense out of nutritional labels.    I've included the highlights of this article, but you'll need to right click on the link below and open it to see all the specific information.    This is helpful for when trying to determine if a specific food is considered "high fat" and what is considered "low fat"when reading labels.   Also, there is info on fiber content, etc.   Very thorough and complete article.   This is written by a pediatrician and reviewed by a medical review board of doctors.
