Hi all! My name is Natalie I am a 21 y/o mother of 2. I recently made a trip to my GYN due to pain while urinating and having sex(I don't even mention the HORRIBLE outer itch I have learned to live with). Since I was 18 I was constantly diagnosed with BV and put on an antibiotic, after finishing the meds, I would continue to call my doc back and advise the irritation still hadnt gone away. My concerns were always brushed off as a possible yeast infection, so much so that up until a week ago I thought I was crazy! I did not understand how I could have this irritation/itching in my vulva area and never be diagnosed with anything more than BV. I went to the doc last week and she told me that I am showing signs of vulvar cancer. From what I could make of what she was telling me, aside from the itching/irritation, I also have white discoloration. I am scheduled to have a biopsy done asap, but I am worried. Everything I have read shows these symptoms in older women, can someone my age have this? There isn't really alot of information online to soothe my worries. Can anyone give any piece of advice?

Hi Natalie,

I am confused as to what BV is???

Yes, you could have vulvar cancer, but typically in someone your age it is due to HPV. Have you been dx'd with that?

Itching is very comnmon with vulvar cancer. I would definately reccomend you seeking a second opinion, especially since it seems your concerns were not addressed by this Dr. at all.

Now, I am not a Dr. BUT, what you described sounds like displaysia, PRE-cancer. Not Cancer, but something ya need to keep an eye on. Hope this helps a little. Keep us posted to let us know how you are!!

Thanks sweety, and you are very welcome!

I belive we are all much stronger than we think, and that all experiences are something we can learn from. I will be hoping to hear from you as soon as you get results, if not before.
