I was reading a couple people's stories on here, and I wanted to share mine since I think it might help people.

I was diagnosed with vWD when I was 13 yrs old due to heavy menses. NOTHING worked to control my periods, one even lasted for an entire year!!! We tried every type of birth control there was, and they were actually aggrevating my condition. Once I went off of all of them, my periods magically stopped - who knows why that happened.

I was on DDAVP for a long time, and I HATED it. I did the nasal spray, and I also had the injections. Not only that, DDAVP barely worked. So, one day I landed a different hematologist, and he suggested I try AmiCar. OMG, my life changed! My periods stopped the next day!

AmiCar has fewer side effects, is less expensive, and comes in a generic. It basically doesn't have any side effects at all, unlike DDAVP which would make my heart race so bad I could feel my pulse in my teeth.

Anyway, talk to your doctors about AmiCar and see what they have to say. It is a lot older than DDAVP, and not used as frequently, but works sooooooooo much better.

On a side note, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year with no luck. Did other people with vWD have trouble getting pregnant? How were your deliveries?
