So my vertigo has gotten worse and worse. I don't know how to operate. I'm scared to death to leave my room. It's been over 48 hours since I've taken a Valium and I'm trying to make it more than 48 hours but the way it's been going since I stopped Valium, I might have to take one. All I can do is lay down. I see a doctor on the 30th and I have to get an MRI with dye before hand. I just can't handle this anymore. After 11 years, my body is tired! Help?!

Hi Nikki,

I know how you feel. It's devistating. I had a MRI too. They needed to see if a brain tumer was causin it. Fortunately it wasn,t. I don't mean to scare you but that's regular proceedure. Process of elemination. Ask your Dr about physical therapy. That helped more than anything. The therpist I had suffered vertigo and was made much better by therapy herself and was able to return to work helping others. Although it helped some, it didn't work well enough to return to work for me so I'm now getting disability. That took about 8 months. It helps some and between my wife and I, we get by.

Hi Nikki,

So glad to hear the knoggin's ok. Hope the next round of tests can reveal the truth of what's happening. It is more than terrible when this stuff doesn't go away. Good luck and may God be with you.

Hi Nikki,

I feel your pain, fear and uncertainty. I've been suffering for 28 years. I have no advice, only hope that the MRI will reveal the problem and that it's not too invasive to fix. Our condition is one of the cruelest I know of and hard to express to those who've never exoerienced it. Get as much rest as you can and drink LOTS OF WATER. Stay away from pot and alcohol if you do that stuff. It will only make things more intense. My2cents...
