No restrooms for employees??? Is that even legal???

At any rate, my hubby is an IT guy, too. Wink Because we were not willing to relocate, it took him quite a while to find work also. He was a pizza delivery driver, truck driver, and a project manager in a landfill for several years before his "dream job" opened up for him. He is currently the IT manager for a moderate-size tractor trailer sales/repair business. So, it utilizes his love for 18-wheelers and his network administrative skills. Grin He oversees 4 locations. He LOVES his job. Unfortunately, it is on the low end of the pay scale for IT professionals. However, the family-owned business is a dream to work for and he couldn't ask for a better boss. For that kind of peace of mind, we'll manage the smaller paychecks.Smile

I wish you the best in your legal struggles. Have your hubby join us. There are a lot of great guys here who completely understand what he's wrestling with.

~Mary

Thank you so much I will definitely get those things for him to try.

The lawyer got an inspector out but all he did was fine them. But at least we got something to happen in our favor.

My husband still hasn't found a job but because of all he's going threw I'm changing my career and going into the medical world.

We have been playing the Wii and walking and I have noticed he's been happier. And this group has helped us so much. Thank you again all!!

Neil himself wanted me to ask if anyone has had a stop in sex drive? He has no libido at all and wants it back so badly but nothing has been working.

Thank you again so much. I have no clue what we would have done without this group.

Hmmmmm... and the cause of his incontinence is what???

Simply from a totally off-the-wall senario, could the foot injury and diabetes simply have been coincidental and have nothing to do with his incontinence???

I have to admit, I look for the "brain injury" boogieman behind every door. However, I do have reduced libido and incontinence due to "brain injury", so I do have a tendency to suggest that when all else fails. It is my bend. Yes, it is remote and highly unlikely, but... then again... hydrocephalus support groups have quite a number of us that suddenly found ourselves dx'ed out of the blue as adults. Just throwing that into the mix in case no doctor has ever checked for high CSF pressure, tumors, cysts, or other injuries of the brain. The brain controls everything we do... and NOT do. It seems logical that when something doesn't work right, you ought to check the wiring. (As my hubby, the IT professional, always asks, "Are you sure it's plugged in?")

However... I'm fairly certain that most of his issues are probably psychological. Hard to be in the mood when things aren't functioning they way they were intended. That could probably resolve itself in time as he becomes better adjusted to his situation. Though I'm sure the guys have better insight on this subject than I do. Wink

We have no clue every doctor says it's his weight but yet they will not run any tests. I asked the doctor to run 6 tests last time he was in and the doctor told me no and it was his weight.

To be honest I'm scared to death it is cancer or a tumor because he has been coughing up blood and there is blood in his stools. He gets bruised easy now and just isn't himself. The doctor told me that unless there was blood in his urine it just can't be cancer or a tumor. Umm excuse me he goes all day long and is a heavy wetter if there was blood wouldn't be not visible. Idk we are getting another doctor as soon as he losses some weight.

Thank you Smile

Well, admittedly, weight CAN play a role in incontinence. When my weight is down, I have better control. When my weight is up, I have more trouble. Increased weight puts increased physical pressure on the bladder which can cause leakage. Uncontrolled diabetes also can add to the frustration due to increased urine production. HOWEVER... my husband is a really, really big guy with type 2 diabetes and the only thing that makes him run to the bathroom is his water pills! If he takes them, he's running! If he forgets them, he's not.

So, could it be your husband's weight???Wassat Wassat Wassat Maybe. Maybe not.

But, I'm not liking the sounds of coughing up blood. Blood in the stool is a bit perplexing to me, because, for myself, I can't tell the difference between something serious and a hemorrhoid! When is blood in the stool really "in" the stool and when is it an aggravated hemorrhoid leaving a calling card? So, I guess I can see why your doctor may be shrugging it off. But, I would want to checking these things out anyway.

Blood in the urine would be detectable by a urinalysis, even if it were not visible to the naked eye. But why a doctor would say this is the only indicator of cancer, or serious illness, is confusing to me.

Not being himself could be the diabetes. When sugars are out of whack, so are personalities!

But, like you, Hope, I wouldn't be comfortable with your doctor's dx either. I would seek another opinion, but I don't think you should need to wait for your husband to lose weight to get one.

Have you tried a good chiropractor or homeopathic doctor? Or perhaps a D.O. rather than an M.D. Any of those doctors would be more prone to listen as they are trained to treat the whole person and not just the symptoms.

Praying you get better results,

~Mary

Just wondering HopeMarie does your husband have health insurance? Most of the time the drs will not do testing if they think that they will not get paid. The second thing is Does he have good coverage with the insurance? I had got the run around with drs before in the past when I had no insurance or poor coverage. As for the doctors not listening.....well thats terrible. I'm the type that will threaten. I have a problem that I need help with but if you keep ignoring or pushing aside my concerns then I will become your problem. If this turns out to be a serious condition that has been ignored and I become ill you will hear from me again. Maybe not the best approach. I have also tried talking very sweet and saying how concerned I am for my husband and then asking if this were your husband, dad, or brother what would you do? What would be the best next step to take for a diagnoses. This has worked. You've made it more personal. I would try this approach and then if that didn't work I would try the second.

As a guy with incontinence, which lucky for me is only of urine (no faecal) my life has been transformed by being advised by a Continence Nurse how to use a 'Uridome' and leg bag. I wonder if this could work for your husband Hopemarie? I would be happy to try to help you both here if you like, and meanwhile I send my hopes and prayers.
