Is there nobody out there with this illness or family member of someone who has it?

Hi

My daughter who is 20 has Turners Syndrome, she was diagnosed with it at birth. It has been a long road but happy 20 years with her in our lives. She has learning disabilities, heart problems, of course growth issues and now has a thyroid problem. What a bumpy road but worth every mile to have her with us!!!!

I was diagnosed with Turners syndrome 29 years ago. I have been able to live a very normal life attending college, being married and divorced, working full-time and spending time with friends and family, etc.

The most difficult challenge for me has been my height and feeling comfortable in social settings. I have some of the typical health related issues, hypo-thyroid, high blood pressure and a hearing loss (I now wear hearing aids). All things considered health issues are treatable and the psychological/emotional issues are treatable too!

Have you found any one else with Turners syndrome your daughter could meet?

What resources have you found for her and for your family?

Hi Everyone

I don't know if this group is currently active. But I need someone to help a friend of mine with coming to grips with Turner's. She was not aware until recently of how many ways Turner's can affect your health.

She so badly needs someone who has walked in her shoes to share with her.

Betsy
