I have had TN for 30 years exactly. I was mis-diagnosed for 28 years with just TMJ. 2 years ago, I was finally correctly diagnosed with TN, TMJ and osteo-arthritis in my right jaw. I have lived a nightmare and ups and downs all these years. I am now going to a neurologist and taking medication which has help significantly but I am so sleepy all the time. I hate the way this disease has dominated my life for the past 30 years. I am going to try one more thing before surgery. I have had 2 doctors tell me that TN is in the MS family so this has allowed me to see what MS sufferers go thru to a certain extent. I also discovered that Gluten free diets are suppose to relieve this so as soon as I get books that I ordered on this diet, I am going to try that. This will be the last thing I try before surgery.
