MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

Welcome I too share your pain except mine is on the right side. I take neurotin, along with valium, and another pain med. Also my face is mostly pain free since my doctor burned the nerves in my face. That made all the diffrent in the world. I still have some TN flare ups but it is bareable. I also have Bells's Palsy which causes the right side of my fae to droop. I wish you the best.

I am pain free after many months of carbamazapine 1200mg/day. I also used to take neurontin for diabetic foot pain but it did not help. I wish everyone who had TN to be pain free. It's such a disabling malady.

Wow! It is so nice to actually meet someone with ear pain. I have extreme ear pain and left face pain below my eye. It moves around to different locations on my face. Very odd. I don't get the shocks though, so they call it "atypical facial pain". Which to me sounds like they don't know, which is pretty frustrating. Anyhow, I too found that Elavil is helping. I just started it a couple of weeks ago and am pleased with the pain relief in my face, but not my ear. I was wondering how much Elavil you are on? I am taking 50 mg at night. It seems like the meds I have tried work for about a week or so, then I need a higher dose. I am also taking Neurontin and Lamictal for my face/ear pain. Does anyone have atypical facial pain and has anyone had success with these drugs?

Thanks for your help!

Kelly
