MDJunction to me

grandmasylvia"MDJ has been "a soft place to fall" for me as Dr Phil says. I have this very painful rare disease Dercum's Disease and take comfort in finding others here who share their knowledge and compassion. Many
members have helped me just by understanding my anguish and validating
my pain. We are working together to encourage research toward a cure.

I am the mother of three great kids. One had seizures that started at age 5 and we just found out he is no longer showing seizure activity on his EEG that was 3 days long. He had the EEG because he was having a tic with his head that wouldn't stop for 2 weeks. We are now told he has Toutettes. I also have a 5 year old daughter that was bounced from doctor to doctor, all of them saying something is wrong we just don't know what it is. She was tested 4 times to see if she had a form of autism because the OTs she seen thought her tics were an autistic stim. She has sever tantrums that started at age 1 and is very hyper. I went to the neuro that told me my son has tourettes and he said she has it too, along with ADHD and OCD. I have spent the past 4 years trying to find out what was going on with her and I now know! I can finally breath!

Hi Lovesaves, and welcome. Thank goodness for your love and perseverence! I know it is an anxiety riddeled journey seeking answers to behaviors that are behaviors not usually seen in children. I had not seen such behaviors with any other child as I did with my little girl. I did not know what I was seeing and it just kept me on edge as we went from Dr. to Dr. Five doctors and 7 years was the norm years ago before diagnosis.

Are you familiar with the National Tourette Syndrome Association? They are online and are the resource for families dealing with Tourette Syndrome. Please post here whenever you feel the need, or if you just want to share. We have some families with young children who have been diagnosed and you may want to meet the moms.

Glad your here. Hugs to you and your children.

I looked the Tourette Syndrome Association up today and signed my son up for the newsletter. My son is a pretty easy child and has never had behavior problems. I hope you don't mind me asking, but did you child hurt herself or other people?

I was told Savannah goes into a rage do to her OCD. For along time it seemed like she would get mad for no reason because she would get mad even if she was getting what she wanted. She would ask if she could have a candy and I would say yes, She wanted me to say,"yes, Savannah".
