Hi everyone!! I decided to join this group hoping to get some tips from others who have this "fun" condition! I have had TMJ since a terrible operation to remove all four wisdom teeth...suppose to be simple...not with me. That was 7 years ago. I never heard of TMJ before this happened. I didn't know why I was in pain or having headaches everyday, but finally an ENT told me to get to a dentist. Went through several of those before finding one that knew what they were doing! Had one tell me I fractured a tooth...went to a specialist....he said I did not -- all the clenching was causing the intense pain in my tooth! Oh well, at least that led me to the doctor I use now. He is wonderful. I wear a mouthguard both day and night. I used to get migraines on a regular basis, but now I don't get so many, usually only when I'm really stressed, or eat something hard, chewy, or crunchy!! Ok, not much left it seems...I have had days where even a banana was too much! Anyhow, just wanted to say hello and look forward to getting to know you all better!Red |
