TMJ Implant Survivor

I am new to your group. I am 48 years old and had surgery back in 1982 at the ripe old age of 24. I am in pain 24/7 and have no discs left in my jaw. My MRI is ugly.

I am a part of the Faulty TMJ Implant Disaster and am encouraging all of you to read this article and the comment I posted. My friends with Vitek and Silastic Silicone implants could sure use your writing abilities. There is really no TMJ Specialist. You are your best doctor. Be Wise and Beware. How come Teflon has been proven bad for you and taken off the market? And now there is a new silicone bakeware out there? All Silicone contains teflon. Are we all being played for fools? NOT ME

Thank you for sharing your story with us. I have heard many bad stories about jaw surgeries and implants. The doctor I see believes in doing the least invasive treatments possible. I would never let anyone touch me with surgery again. Just having my wisdom teeth removed because they were impacted and infected was a nightmare. I don't want any kind of surgery ever again!! The article was interesting. It makes me so mad to think of all these kinds of things happening to people and all our government/big business seems to do is cover it all up. I hope many more who received implants and are having trouble will also step up to demand the truth.
