US THYROID/NECK/SOFT TISSUE

NarrativeUS THYROID OR NECK OR SOFT TISSUE 2D, Grayscale, Color Doppler,

duplex : Dec 1, 2011 11:12:00 AM.

History: enlarged thyroid.

Comparison: None.

Procedure: 2-dimensional Grayscale and color Doppler, duplex images

of the thyroid were obtained.

Findings: The thyroid gland is mildly enlarged. The right lobe

measures 4.7 x 2.3 x 2.1 cm . The left lobe measures 5.0 x 2.1 x

1.8 cm. The isthmus measures 4 mm in thickness. There are multiple

nodules throughout each lobe. Complex cyst mid right lobe measures

2.7 x 1.0 x 1.4 cm. Complex mid isthmus nodule is heterogeneous and

cystic and solid measuring 1.9 x 1.0 x 1.0 cm.

Largest complex left mid cystic and solid nodule measures 1.9 x 1.0

x 1.5 cm. Complex mid thyroid lobe nodule measures 1.3 x 0.8 x 1.0

cm.

ImpressionImpression: Multinodular goiter.

now i have to go see a speacialist to see what this is all about and i don't know just how worried i should be

Welp if they put you on synthoid you will do good, I didnt do well with the levothxyrine. Didnt do much the shrink my nodoles either.But on synthoid my left one is gone but the one on the right went from 5 to 3. as far as a goitier dont know much about that.

eif -- you DO know that synthroid and levothyroxine are the same medication -- it's just that the fillers are different.

Yes that is what they say, but my body will tell you they are different. After a yr on levothxine my tsh wouldnt get stable, a yr of hell is what it was.

A yr on synthoid very stable feel better than I have in 4yrs. My TSH was 74.32 before found by my gastroligist yeah a tummy doc of all things. High is shouldnt be over 6.

Kept telling my GP something was wrong that I was going to fall out with a heart attack if they didnt do something. I cant tell you the antidepressents they gave me which made things worse, why you ask because I couldnt matabolize anything!! hair falling out, pain in my ankles and knees to the point I couldnt walk, and I had to work this way for 3yrs!! It was horrible, yes I know the 2 meds are labeled the same but synthoid is cleaner and not genernic.

thank you eif for the reply, i went and seen the gastro doc and she wants to do a biospy to know where to go from there. i will tell you more as i learn more. from reading about that medicine i wonder if i would be on the same thing.

Hello Im new here. and I cant to hekp and read your story. I to have a nodule on my right lobe. at first it was a 1.8cm..but now its a 1.4cm. im also taking levothyroxine . WHy do we get these things. yes its really frustrating and stressful..whether its going away..shrink..etc. .I saw my primary doctor...cause i had another ultrasound March 5th...my endo doctor was the one who got the results..and everything was ok. he also told me it could be my diet. man...Im a healthy person..I eat right...I workout. you kow how much everyday I ask god to help me get rid of this thing. I have no symptoms whatsoever.
