I'm 24, a new Registered Nurse, happily married and a mother.

About an hour ago I hung up from my doctor...She's been working on diagnosing me for about a month now... and it's been one thing after another. Now this.

She's treating me for an ASO of 637 and also a +lyme ab (negative western blot but still possible lyme) with ceftin, I'm on my third week of that.

Since starting, my joint and muscle pain have improved (most days, ha) but other symptoms have gotten worse... blurry, now doub...

I was given RAI for Hashimotos and found out later that was incorrect treatment and I only needed medication. Now, obviously I have no thyroid (it was perfectly healthy) and I'm planning on suing, however I can't find anything in the books that it was against procedure, I'm thinking probably because they didn't feel a need to do so for anything other than cancer or graves. If anyone else has had experience with this, or can find anything regarding this, I would verymuch appreciate it. If it's not...

Hi: New to the group. After many many years of hypothyroidism and T4 only treatment, (based on the infamous THS test...) my husband insisted that we try an Endocrinologist to further treat me. After some of the standard antibody tests, I was diagnosed with Hashimodo's. The treatment??? More Synthroid.... just like the past. I am a walking poster child for hypothyroidism, complete with loss of the outer thirds of my eyebrows! CAN ANYONE please come up with a practitioner that is versed in th...

I've had Hashimotos for 10 years and my T3 and T4 are regularly monitored. I'm on 150mc Levothyroxine. Just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia last month. I had a sleep study done because I am overwhelmingly exhausted and was told I have insomnia. After doing some research I have found that people with Fibro and/or Hashi's have insomnia issues. Does anyone here have insomnia issues and if so what is your solution. I take magnesium, calcium and my doctor recommended I add melatonin (although he said the...

G'day!

I'm Allan, and I live in Oz! I was diagnosed with hyper-throidism in 2008, and suspected of having Graves disease as well. Initially I didn't pick up on the symptons because I was always a notoriously bad snoozer, so it was only when I went for blood tests to ascertain the reasons for involuntary shaking that the diagnosis was made. Given that I also have ADHD i was sporadic with the medication, and missed a few appointments, so I'm still at the same stage I think...I reckon that it mi...

Hi! Like you, I was diagnosed in my teens. My understanding is that is pretty young to have hypothyroidism, but it is what it is. What I've since learned is that when someone has an autoimmune disorder, they are MUCH more likely to have others (which has been true for me). A rheumatologist can help test/monitor for other autoantibodies if you ever have health problems in the future.

Synthroid has not helped me stay warm (my body temp still runs in the 97s, and I sometimes think I'm alwa...

I'm only in my mid-40s but experience hand tremors under stress and/or excitement (positive or negative). My mom said she's been told she has essential tremors and that it runs in the family. So.......hoping it's just that. As for in the head....? I do have a seizure disorder on top of Hashimoto's, and am on seizure medication. However, every once in a blue moon, I've experienced some kind of head tremor whe...

I'm probably not as educated on thyroid issues as those of you who come here and read a lot, but here's something new to me.

My Hashi's got an escalation in numbers in the last months. TPO jumped up to 1000, which the new doc was going to delay addressing in that first month we started working together. Then the next month it was 1700. I have gotten it back t...

Hello, my name is Gabrielle, I'm eighteen, and I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis in late March. I'm taking 50mcg of synthroid on the weekdays and 75mcg of levothyroxine. I also take 1000 IUs of D-12 and I believe 250mcg of B-12(that's a new thing). My symptoms have been improving, but I still haven't been able to shake the irregularity in my digestive system. This is TMI, but I have diarrhea at a minimum of once a week, sometimes more, even after having normal BM throughout the day, t...
