Hello,my name is Anita and I was just diagnosed on friday afternoon after a long morning of two different Docs doing all kinds of physical tests and xrays to try and figure out what was wrong with me cause the symptoms didnt add up but they decided to take som c spine xrays and they seen on them that my first ribs were not the right size.I think they said they were like little nubs or something I just kinda shut down after they said i have TOS.They have set me up with PT once a week for 6 weeks and at home PT.They didnt really tell me a thing about it.I feel so lost and confused. How serious is TOS.What can I expect.I need help so bad and so scared.

It is a long road to recovery I think I have read for a year and five months as much as I could as you need to have as much information as possible to make the best decisions regarding your treatment. Also second opinions and possibly third prior to surgical options. I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel first then had emg and they said cubital tunnel have had three elbow surgeries then was diagnosed with medial epicondylitis, this whole time I kept telling them had increasing shoulder pain etc. Finally they diagnosed the TOS the surgery might solved the issue don't know yet as has only been two weeks so still waiting to see. I have had nights though where I go to sleep crying thinking this is not going to work I think this is depression have dealt with the pain/discomfort for nine years total so then I tell myself listen to the doctor 80% success rate.

suer,

How are you feeling? I was diagnosed a couple weeks ago with bilateral TOS and have started pt twice a week for at least 6 weeks. They told me it's be around a year at least for treatment. I am not sure if I have the extra rib or not, they didn't notice it on my cervical mri.
