Well, luckily, there are very few things baby actually NEEDS. Are you planning to breastfeed? If you are, then you don't need any of that expensive feeding stuff. Maybe one package of bottles if you plan to pump. I've heard that WIC can provide pumps if you don't have one and qualify. Obviously you need some diapers, and a few outfits for the baby. Luckily, summer outfits are easy to find at garage sales and resale stores like Once Upon A Child really cheap. You don't need a crib if you can co-sleep which I completely recommend as it reduces the risks of SIDS when done correctly. You should probably have some blankets in case the baby throws up on you, which it probably will. You don't need a changing table or pads for it necessarily, as the floor will do just fine. You could use a bouncer or a swing, which you can also get cheap at garage sales or re-sale stores, if you really want one. The downside to not having one is that you kind of have to hold the baby all the time, but the upside is that you save the money and you get to hold your baby all the time! But having one or the other is good so when you need to go to the bathroom or something you have a place to put them. Obviously, you need a carseat. You're really not supposed to buy those used, so I recommend saving money on other things and getting a good car seat. I also recommend using a convertible car seat from the beginning because you can use it facing backwards until the baby is 2 (or later) and needs to be turned forward facing. That way you don't have to spend the extra money on two car seats. If you need any other ideas or information, just let me know! Smile

Check out yard sales, thrift shops, and if you have one around the salvation army has a lot of cheap stuff I got most of my babies things from these places you can find really nice things and not have to pay a lot for them at all. The only things I have brand new for him is the stroller and car seat and that just because they were a gift from my mom as an early baby shower presents. If you know anyone who has a baby that has grown out of things thats a good idea too my friend has a son that is a few months older than mine will be and she hands down all the stuff when he grows out of them which really helps!!
