MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

I have constant utis and none of my drs are rlly sure why they continually come back. But my doctor recommened me for a high risk pregnancy aid. I ask a few people and they said having utis a lot doesn't make my pregnancy high risk but I can't help but worry. Then one my friends said once you get past 12 weeks you will be fine and Im almost 12 weeks now. Im just wondering if anyone else had this problem and how does or will it effect my baby?

I only had one uti hike I wa pregnant so I don't have personal experience but if you dot understand or are worried about something you need to make sure you ask your doctor until you feel comfortable with the answer. I know doctors can be confusin but knowledge is power and it's best to know everything that's going on. If your doctor isn't really able to explain or you don't feel comfortable asking, maybe find another doctor? You're early enough along that you could switch. You might like a midwife. They are just like a doctor and have an office just like a doctor only they can't perform csections so another doctor would do that if you needed one. But generally midwives are much easier to talk to and they spend a lot of time with you and talking you through everything. I loved mine!

I'm an Advocate

I had a couple uti's while I was pregnant and my doctor said the baby wouldn't be effected and really he isn't my son is happy healthy and acts like any normal baby. But I do agree with Isabella if you feel like you don't understand it completely I would talk to your doctor about it

I had lots of UTI's with my second baby, even to the point of bleeding because of them. The only thing is that as soon as you have one you have to get it treated. My doctor told me that left untreated it could lead to a kidney infection and while baby is well protected from infection in the amniotic sac, if your body gets into enough trouble it could trigger early labor. That is worst case scenario though and my doctor didn't seem worried. He just said to make sure to treat them as soon as they come up.

Do you take baths? I think that's what caused mine. Oh, and I had my baby five days overdue and she was perfectly healthy Smile

I am not a doctor or therapist, just a person who cares.
