I'm getting induced Monday!! I'm realllly nervous. (I have to be induced to decrease the chance of a c-section.) My OB's going to put a pill in my cervix too try and dilate me, and if it doesn't work... They're going to re-try it Wednesday. Has anyone had this done? Or has anyone been induced another way? What was it like?

I was induced with an IV of pitocen. I wasn't really that bad. I started having a few contractions so they gave me two shots of pain medicine because I wasn't dilated enough to get my epideral. I barely felt anything my whole labor. I had people telling me it hurts when they break your water but I was still on that shot of pain medicine and didn't feel a thing.

It really made my labor speedy. It only tooks 8 hours... from time of check in to delivery. They say it also makes it more painful. Im not sure about that cuz ive only had one kid.. but it was pretty painful..It makes you contractions more intense. They told me it makes you vomit sometimes.. but no one i know has ever vomitted from it. but congrats!

They are inducing you to try to reduce you having a c-section? You tend to have more of a chance to get a c-section when you get induced (I forgot the stats, you could probably look it up).

BUT CONGRATS!!! Either way it's going to be AMAZING!

They are inducing me to decrease the chance of a c-section because the baby's already 7 pounds. And I'm really small and will deff. have to have a c-section if not! But thanks for the advice everyone!
