So for all you mommys who have gone through the pregnancy, how did you go into labor? I'm going to be 36 weeks on Thursday, which means I'll finally be in my 9th month (TOOK FOREVER!). I would really love to go into labor by 37-38 weeks. I thought if I start attempting to induce myself at the end of this week and do it daily for a week or 2, something will have to work. What are your best tricks in the book? What got you running to the hospital? I'm ready to see my little girl!

While your at it, I would love to hear your labor stories. Did you realize you were going into labor? Did your water break? Did you think it was just BH contractions? What time of day was it? Did you time your contractions or just go to the hospital? (I always assume it'll be like the middle of the night and I'll turn to Kyle and say "it's time" like the movies lol).

I want to hear it all! Horror and good things Wink

haha. brave girl you are. i was having BH contractions for about 3 days. pretty steadily every 3-5 mins but they weren't painful yet so my doctor kept putting it off. my blood pressure was finally so high that they induced me. they didn't have to break my water though, it happened on it's own a little bit before i had my epidural.

i read all kinds of crap about going into labor. exercising, sex, pineapple, mexican food. i tried it all and none of it worked. mostly, you're going to go into labor when you and that baby are ready and not a minute earlier. in some ways it's lucky and in some ways it's miserable. we've all been there but just know that the last month is the fastest. :]

When I hit 34 weeks, I started having pre-term labor. About every 2 weeks from then I was going into the hospital for painful cramps and water leaking out. ( Turns out it was a severe yeast infection from sex) I tried everything Eggplant parmisan, curb walking, sex, yoga, jumping, swinging, raspberry tea...nothing worked.

On April 6th, the day before my due date, I started having horrible vagina pain in the later afternoon that had me in tears. I decided to go to the hospital, but when I got into the car, it stopped so I went home.

I wasnt home even an hour when I went to the bathroom and I went to pull up my pants ans some water just flowed out. I called my mom and she figured my water broke.

So at like 12 at night, I go to the L&D and my nurse did an internal exam and said I looked dry and was about to send me home. Then she did a swab test to look for fluid and a portion of my water had broken! I was sooo relieved.

They started a pitocine drip that didnt work. So around 2 the next day, Instead on the monitors on my belly, they put in an internal monitor to see why I wasnt progressing. When they put it in, the rest of my water broke and the contractions started hitting hard. I breathed through some, but then I got the epidural. Once I got that, I progressed kinda slow till I hit about 5 cm. Then after that whithin an hour I was 10. I pushed for an hour and a half and then she came out!!

Sorry, that was lonng!

April 6 is my sisters birthday Smile

What is curb walking?? lol. And really raspberry tea? I haven't heard have that one. I've been pretty diligent about stimulating my nipples though. I'll just pick up my shirt while watching TV and go at it. I'll have some BH contractions, but then it'll just stop.

Curn walking is where you put one foot on the curb and the other one off. Yeah, raspberry tea is supposed to be great from your uterus. But you have to drink like 4 cups a day.

Haha April 7th is my oldest sisters birthday, and Avas b-day. She was so mad at me Hahaha

OMG LIR I tried everything also LOL

Basil and oregango are labor inducers, Nipple stimulations, sex, Meaghan told me about the curb walking..it didn't work lol i just looked like an idiot, I drank the rasberry tea, walked A LOT I was also told by my midwife to drink 2 ounces of white wine and take a bath its supposed to help your body to relax

I was sooo frusteratted because I was 4 cm dilated for 2 weeks and they kept saying oh you won't make it another 2 days..

The night I went into labor i was walking home from my bfs house and I had no braxton hicks or anthing..so all the sudden I got this horrible pain and i was like what the heck is that.. well In that hour my contractions went from 15 mins to 7 mins to every three mins.. As soon as I got to the hospital I was 6cm and my water broke like as soon as I layed down on the bed. I had 2 epidurals the first one was put in the wrong place and didn't work at ALL but the second one was awesome LOL I pushed for 45 mins and Emily was born 8 pounds 20 inches and beautiful<3

I had 6 stitches which hurt

The bad part is contractions SUCK and everyone wants to stay in the hospital with you when all your really want is quiet time, and they also have to take ur baby for checkups and shots ect and that sucked cause when she was in the room with me everyone else was coming to visit and stuff and then when It was finally time for me to love on her and stuff the Drs came to take her...then when she came back it was bed time LOL

the good part once you see your little girl you will not want to let her go

I was induced. My Dr. told me to go the the hospital on the 23rd at 12am(Might as well say the 23rd lol)and tell the nurses there that I was feeling some pains (which I wasn't). Well I went there and got to the ER and they took me up to L&D and I was put in a room where the Obgyn's take naps cause all there rooms were full. I was hooked up to the monitor things for contractions and the nurse knew I was getting induced so they found me a room and started me on pitocin at 2:36am. I was having a few contractions. They started off good then I had a couple of bad ones so they gave me two shots of some type of pain medication(which made me high, I was seeing rainbows and crap and talking everyone's head off lol) My Dr. came in and broke my water and I didn't feel anything(cause of the shot. People told me it would hurt.) after that I was at 2cm I started having contractions that literally lifted me off the bed so the allowed me to get the epidural. After the epidural I didn't feel anything. After the epidural my labor progressed. I went from 2cm to 7cm and I started feeling like I needed to push. I doctor checked me and within minutes I went to 10cm and Paul was not wanting to wait for the doctor It only took me two and a half pushes and he was here, 6 pounds 15 ounces and gorgeous.

welllllllllll I went into labour around 3am on a Sunday. The day before (Saturday) I worked all day (9-5) and then at night I went for ice cream with a friend and did my curb walking on the way back to the car haha. The only reason I woke up at 3am is because Scott drunk texted me (can't remember what he was saying lol) and I was like well frig.. I'm already awake so I might as well go pee since I'll be up in another like 10 minutes anyways. So when I went to pee there was a TON of blood.. I mean.. I don't think it was normal. About an hour after that my contractions started and right away they were like 7 minutes apart.. and by the time they were 5 minutes apart I was really just waiting for Scott's flight to get in and for him to get to my house so I could go to the hospital (I didn't want to go without him lol). Anyways.. I definitely realized that I was in labour.. especially because I was bleeding.. and I never really had BH contractions unless it was after sex. They broke my water for me.. I think I got to the hospital around 1 or 2pm and they broke it almost as soon as I got there and started me on pitocin. I tried my best to time my contractions but when you're by yourself it gets difficult haha.. by the time Scott was there it was pretty much time to go.. well not really time.. but I wanted DRUGS! hahaha

okay so the day before i had kylan i went into the hospital because i was having mild contractions and it was a day after my due date >:[ i was dilated about 4 and a half and they told me i wasn't quite ready and it wouldn't be long so they gave me pain medication and sent me home. grrr, and then at three in the morning i started having contractions about 10 ish minutes apart so i just got up and took a shower, did my hair, and so on.. (if you knew me it would totally make sense!) and then at 6 i woke up my mom and told her i was in labor and they were still 10 minutes apart, they weren't too terrible, but then at like 6:30 they got like 2 minutes apart so i called my doctor and went to the hospital, and the contractions were kinda bad but i didn't think they were completely horrible, i just kept thinking they were going to get worse, and then when i got to the hospital i WALKED up to the third floor and my doctor came and checked me and told me i was a little over 9 cm dialated and it was to late for an epidural so i just layed there and waited until i was fully dialated, a little later i was fully dialated and was so tired i couldn't push so i said i wouldn't do anything until they got me an epidural (verryyyy dramatic) so they did and i took a nap and i pushed a couple times and there came kylan! and they cleaned him up and i was done! i really had an easy labor, a really easy labor i got to the hospital somewhere around 7ish and had him at 1. so it wasn't long at all.

Hopefully you will have an easy labor!

Marciee :D
