hey everyone i have a quick question. i MUST go to my brothers graduation which is an hour and a half away. I have not traveled this far in over a year. Just a week ago i was able to get to San Francisco which is about 30 minutes away, I had trouble doing this previously because the bay bridge makes me feel uneasy, just the fact thats it the only way in and out. traffic makes me panic as well. I was able to do this on xanax, 1 .25mg pill. i had little breakthroughs of panic at the beginning, but...

Hi my names Rosie and I just turned 18. I've had agoraphobia for almost a year now and I only ever leave the house once every three weeks to see my psychologist down the road and I still die when I do that. I can hardly talk to anyone for days after I see her. I feel so alone and helpless all the time. And I feel so bad for my boyfriend because i'm always sad and having panic attacks when he comes over, but he never gives up on me. I don't want to take medication so I was wondering if anyone's g...

I'm not a teenager, but agoraphobia struck me while I was a teen, so I hope you will listen to me. Almost every feeling is intense when you are a teen for the simple reason that you are experiencing so many things for the first time. When you experience a panic attack, the fear seems unbearable. Please have courage because you can get out of this. Read everything you can on the subject of agoraphobia and you will learn that your adrenaline firing system needs some changes. One thing you can...

I'm probably not the best role model, because I don't always practice what I preach.. But I have come up with a few ways to cope with my agoraphobia. I am 17 and realized not too long ago that if I want any kind of a future I need a job. I had been in and out of high school because I couldn't handle the possibility of embarrassing myself all the time. But I'm back in and pushing through it, along with starting my first job real soon.. All because of 3 things..

1 I have a really good support ...

Hi, my name is Emily.
I'm 17 years old.
I'm straight, I have an amazing boyfriend, he has: PTSD, OCD, DID, suicidal tendencies, depression, um... all I can think of right now. We are so happy together, we are perfect for each other.
He's the only reason I'm still alive.

I'm currently being emotionally, mentally, and verbally abused by my mother. I was being physically, verbally, (mainly) abused by my father.
My parents have been divorced for a bit over 2 years (2010), I was so happy ...

I am so frustrated I can just scream!! My son was diagnosed with Agoraphobia a year ago. After being diagnosed he attempted to take his life. He was put on a 72 hour hold and then released. After that was a big legal battle regarding him being a delenquent or an Agoraphobic. Thou court won and he was taken away from me and placed into residential treatment.(where they dont treat agoraphobics)In the end I got him back home and he seemed to be doing fine on his medication. His main problem is n...

I even got a job and am play on my school's volleyball team. I know it is soooooo hard to go out when you feel the way you do, but the first step is to get the help and keep going. and another (not related) topic...Two weeks ago we added to the (now available on chrome too) the Groupon application that shows you the hottest daily deals in your town, every day. We received great feedback from the people using the toolbar so I suggest trying it out!!!
