I love Tennessee! Just come on down here  So not to bore you but I have an update. Please know before I even start I am VERY NEW at this and I can only say and know what my lawyer told me I am only giving these updates from past post on here or the SSD group.So today I went to meet with my lawyer and we completed my appeal online. I was there 2 hours. I really liked my lawyer ALOT. First of all he will receive 25% or up to 6000 for payment if I win my appeal. He said that is set by SSA. He was very shocked that my daughter was denied. He said my daughter's case really "peaks" his interest. He said that SSI for children is a bit different than for an adult. He said for a child that I didn't have to be "very low income". He said SSI was the only SS a child could get and they do have different guidelines for it. He said yes they look at our income but they LOOK at alot more for a child. He also said that in was not uncommon for children to be on SSI. So at any rate my appeal is filed and he gave me papers to take to all her teachers, counselors and doctors. So thats my update I am a mother to 3 beautiful girls ages 2, 9 & 13 and married to a wonderful man! Our 13yr was diagnosed Dec. 2010 with Bipolar 1 with psychosis features. This has truly affected EVERY aspect of our lives!
My daughter is currently on:
Risperidone 1mg ½ pill in a.m. and 1 whole pill in p.m.
Depakote Er 250mg 1 pill in a.m. and 2 pills p.m.
Clonidine .1mg 2 pills p.m. (for sleep)

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....
