So, I was out on the internet researching the information on my hubby's "Individualized Recovery Plan." Did I tell you that psych nursing was at the bottom of my "favorite specialties" in college? Or that I seemed to be "good at it" even as a student? At any rate, I have been out on the internet researching the different "Axis". For Axis V, he scored a "25."

According to my research,

"21 - 30 Behavior is considerably influenced by delusions or hallucinations OR serious impairment, in communication or judgment (e.g., sometimes incoherent, acts grossly inappropriately, suicidal preoccupation) OR inability to function in almost all areas (e.g., stays in bed all day, no job, home, or friends)"

Tell me this man is ready to go from PHP to IOP. I think not!

The more I think about this, the angrier I become!

Okay, I just posted on your other thread but now I wonder if your husband's impairment is something OTHER than psychotic. But still fits Axis 5 impairment? If that makes sense.
All of my advice is based on experience and reading. I am not a medical doctor, and have never even played one on TV.

He fits the criteria after the psychotic part, He still has suicidal ideations, his judgement is impaired because he obsesses over the most ridiculous stuff and he certainly isn't functioning well. He is still isolating in the man cave - although he keeps telling me he knows he isn't supposed to. There "isn't anything for him to do" outside of it - which isn't true. He just doesn't have any ambition to DO anything. He quit working on the "handyman special" we bought 17 years ago at least a dozen years ago.
