Marriedtoit,

1) I too am a believer in the organized power of numbers/dashes/bullets/etc. I also ensure that all canned goods in my pantry are stacked properly with labels forward and organized by item. Lol.

2) I am 100% ON BOARD with med compliance. Especially having watched my mom consistently quit taking her meds every few months... (for almost 20 years now, when she was diagnosed). When she would crash into a deep depression she would take her meds again until she 'felt better'. She is a very smart and bright woman.

3) The longer his mania is continuing the more I am realizing that it may take more time for him to become stable than I had assumed. I realize the extreme importance of proper me-time and setting/following through on boundaries. I can simply not be in crisis mode myself for too long before I am unwell myself. I am working on this daily Smile

4) I checked out schizoaffective disorder and I think it 'may' be possible. I also looked up the med treatment for it (antipsychotic + lithium + divalproex) and that is what they have him on (seroquel/lithium/epival). I wonder how long it 'takes' for a proper med combo to start righting imbalances? And if it is not working within an expected timeframe do they try other 'cocktails'? I so hope it is sooner rather than later... the less pain he has to go through the better. And me too!

5) The 911 rule was established in our relationship prior to him entering the hospital.

Thanks again, I AM poking around and reading lots!

Sewnup,

Thank you! I AM feeling welcomed to this group. I certainly have been reading and educating myself. I must if I am to be any kind of help or support!

Best wishes for your husband's proper diagnosis.
