MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

Hi Neesee....

I would take things slow with this man - make absolutely sure he is stable before you commit to marriage, IMO... it will only get worse otherwise - this is the time he should be "wooing" you... just think about it....

Neesee, thats why they call what they have a mood disorder. They go up and down like a rollercoaster so easy, and it takes a pretty strong stomach to deal with it, I know. You say he has been on meds for 2 months, what does he take? Does he take a mood stabilizer and an anti depressant? 2 months isn't long, it usually takes longer to get stable, and sometimes the meds need to be changed because it isn't working for them. Is there a way you can talk to his pdoc to share his behavior now that he has been on meds for awhile. I know all things changed when I went to my DH's pdoc and shared my feelings and concerns, because the patient just doesn't see it sometimes. They need our help whether they know it or like it or not, at least in the beginning more so.
It isn't my husband's fault he has an illness. It is his responsibility on how he treats it so he doesn't hurt others or himself in the midst of it.

My opinion, is just that, I am here to share my experience, strength and hope to those whose lives have been affected by this disorder :)

Valproic (Depakote)acid is used as a mood stabilizer. It should help curb episodes of mania....

ok this went on the wrong post.
