After waiting 2 years and 17 days I have my hearing. I would like to know how long till I get a decision after this? Any advice on how to dress? I like others here really need this.

Hopefully, no longer than 2 months after the hearing. Some ALJs will tell you verbally after the hearing you were approved. This is called a bench decision.

Normally within 7 to 10 days after receiving a bench decision, you receive a 2 to 3 page summary from the hearing office indicating that a fully-favorable decision was issued on the day of your hearing and you were approved for benefits.

Most people say to simply be clean and dress casually. I was approved OTR so I did not have to appear live before an ALJ.

most ALJ decisions are issued 30-90 days after the administrative record is closed

I am really really nervous, I have been denied 2 times already. My hearing is by satellite. I have no idea what to expect. I have a feeling they will change my onset date, but hey as long as I get it. Are the odds of approval good at the point?

Yes, you have the best odds at winning at the hearing level. I was also denied two times. Most people are actually. SS agreed with my (AOD) onset date also. They did not amend it. I received approx. 2 years of backpay. When is your actual hearing date winniepooh1970? You are going in with representation, right?

My hearing is Tuesday, yes I have hired Allsup to represent me. My onset date that SSA set for me was 2/1/09 so they would owe me a lot. I just want all this to be over asap. Lol.

Yeah I know winniepooh1970. I felt the exact same way. Allsup will serve you well. I also used them and i was very satisfied with the final outcome. Good luck on the upcoming hearing. Please come back and update after the hearing. I was able to just forget about the whole process and let Allsup do all the driving. I realize many people are in desperate financial straits but I did have personal savings and others things available to me, plus I had paid down/off a lot of personal debt so the financial strain was not as great on me although the process was still aggravating and stressful.
