So, these rules can go even deeper than at the state level. According to Alexis, it could even depend on what county/city within a particular State. Then if you do work the min. 4 hours per day according to Alexis and even if it is under SGA, they still hold this against you and might make getting SSDI/SSI harder to get. It is a catch 22. Glad family is able to help out Alexis until you can get approval.

You need to call your local welfare office ASAP Monday morning and speak to a supervisor, In Ohio they WILL exempt you from the work program if you can show proof your in the disability process.

@xceldanes, yeah I agree. Alexis and I are around the same age. It does seem unfair (the termination of her cash assistance) after what you and Elvis wrote about the exemption if you can show you are in the disability process. I know the DDS has certain rules and guidelines that they must follow to ensure a correct decision is made but a lot seems to be random, depending mostly of the adjudicator who decides your claim. I had someone tell me in another forum about being approved in less than 6 months for depression only and he had only been DXed a year prior and did not have a pile of medical records. This guy was bragging about how easy it was and that he could not believe how he had been approved so soon.
