Just got a letter from ss and I now have to go to a psychologist apt...IN LATE APRIL! Goodness gracious. Beats a denial letter though. lol. I have seen this doctor before in 2006. My hubby and I were about to get divorced and we were both court ordered to see him. (we reconciled though, thank the Lord)I don't think he wasn't very fond of me at the time. He said I was narcissistic and anti social at the time. That was for child custody though...and I am a wonderful mom btw..I was just going through hell at the time. ANYWAY!!!!!! I'm already planning on going back to see my own psychiatrist anyway. I've been reading some people's issues on the anxiety forum and from what my hubby has read and been told I seem to be agoraphobic. That would explain things but we shall see what my doc says. SOOOOO- Question - What is a psychologist going to do? He did do ink blot on me at those years ago. Anyone seen one before for ssdi? Would my psychiatrist records and past records be better than the ce examiner opinion?

The one I saw asked question about how I was with people, do I need inst.(in other words do I need someone to stand over me to do my job), do I get upset easy, question like that. It was not bad at all. He look at my meds wrot them down sent me on my way. The last word he said to me was don't give up. Good Luck Take meds & glasses or wear contacts.

thanks. will my personal psychiatrist records out weigh the ce psychologist? atleast it wasn't a bad apt. hopefully he will understand my situation. we shall see...

Heatherj78, When I had my ce psychologist appointment she ask me questions like they did realityworld and showed me the dots on paper. They will give you some numbers to see if you can remember them in order and repeat things to seeing how your memory is. Yes, the ALJ will weigh your's psychologist over theirs. Remember theirs is suppose to prove you don't really have a disabiliy or it really isn't that bad.

well i will make a point to ask him how he thinks he is going to make a fair assessment in 20 -40 minutes in 1 apt because if i were his private pay patient he would have me come back atleast 1 more visit for further testing.

And forgot this, he asked me who was the last three president. Then at the end he asked me again. In reading my file at SSDI (which you can request. But I would find first if all reports are in, that way you can see what was reported. Also it will give you the rating that he rated you under. I can not remember what the rating is call. GF something. If you don't know I sure someone will jump in and say. Yes your Dr records will over rule SSDI records if their is months and months report. I don't know why I was sent had no record of seeing a psy. and never had saw one before. I'm thinking because I take cymbalta. Which can be used for other things. But the regular CE doctor did not hold water, she controdent(sp) everything against what all my records stated by my doctors. And that statement was also in file file. So that was in my favor.

i know its because i put fibro (diagnosed 2006) depression,personality dis, panic and anxiety (all diagnosed since i was 18 - over 15 years ago) and have treated on and off over the years for it but since last year i started seeing a psychiatrist and will be going back this week to discuss agoraphobia. my husband will be with me to validate and inform the doc of how i live or rather not live. when someone told be i had this issue i started crying because i didn't understand what it was...but when my hubby read it- he was shocked to realize that it described me almost to a t. but i never told any doctors because i thought they'd think i was crazy and lock me up again...which is a very bad fear i have. but we shall see. im just going to keep praying because i know it's in God's hands...and therefore what will be will be.

I wish I had the time to put into words of my visit to the ssdi mental doc visit. First off he lied on my exam so many times it wasnt funny. But the fact that i wasnt fileing on mental I didnt care so much. He said he had me count backwards from 100 in 7's which he didnt do. He said i knew my presidents to number 30 which he never ask which I do know them lol. He dx'ed me with ptsd and anexity and agorphobia. he noted that I drove to the appointment myself which I did do. He noted that my car was exceptionally clean he must have had someone go check it while in the visit. he noted that i smoked three ciggarettes while waiting to come into the building. The meeting lasted about 20-25 minutes. He did also make notation that I looked very tired and was well dressed. I had not shaved in a week I wore a hate to cover up the bad hair day. His gaf score was a 50 if you look these up there is meaning to them. If your fileing a mental health claime. If your going mental your mental health gaf score needs to be much lower then this.

Heather can I offer up some advice on here about agoraphobia ? Our former leader that use to post on here could help much more in this area. But he dont post here anymore. But if you drive to your appointment and claiming to have agoraphobia they will disregard this dx as not severe enough to cause problems. Most severe people with agoraphobia do not go anyplace by themselves includeing doc app's nor shopping or outside for that matter. Please look this up more before asking your doc about it.
