My son who is 8 went to a hearing before a judge on Nov.29 2011. It went really well. I called the end of Dec. to check the status and the Sec.told me that the judge was working on as we speak then she said It can take up to another 8 to 12 weeks. I called back today and the sec told me that they were waiting on the judge to send to decision writer that he took notes then he has to sign off on it once it does get back then she said it can take 4 to 8 weeks. I am so confused first they tell me 8 to 12 weeks now it's 4 to 8 weeks. I need some intake on this.Sad

Get used to that. The whole thing has been nothing but a confusion to me but the money has come for me so hang in there. I know its not easy, but you dont realy have a choice.

Yes, it was the worst thing Ive ever done but turned out to be the best thing I could have done. I realy felt like I was talking with God as the judge was my last hope in life and well, he saved mine and my sons life.

You never know how long an SSDI decision takes because they are thousands of SSA staff with different work load and different back logs. This is especially true of a judge who is accountable to nobody. When you call one person will estimate 4 weeks the next will guess 12 weeks becaus ethey have ni idea but people don't want to hear "no idea how long"

If you don't mind I have some questions. Are you applying for your son? Do you have an attorney?
