Yes it says 905.00 per month beginning May 2011 so I don't get any back pay cause they changed my onset date to Oct 2010.

If it says 905 that's probably right. It all depends on your work history, and it's a number set in stone long before you apply for disability (like I checked how much my benefit amount would be two years before I finally got approved).

Wink Don't know about your backpay. But happy that you have something coming in. I would check to see what happen. Hopeful you will get another letter with backpay info. Good Luck

Thats more then I get,but I have 2 children who are under the age of 18,and I receive benefits for each of them too. An extra 156.00 a month for them. Do you have any kids? If you have kids under 18,you can collect for them as well,it is a seprate application,I did mine over the phone, with my local SSD office.

I have three kids under the age of 18 who live in my household. So does that mean the 905 goes up due to the three kids?

I'm pretty sure you get 50% of your amount for every child under 18 you support.

The more I read, the more disillusioned I get. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia for years. I had to stop working in Sep 2010. I filed for disablity. (SSI?) I knew that it could take some time, but, I have been denied twice. I now have a "firm" (not lawyers) assisting me and am going to trail. I have proven my fibromyalgia through several specialists and fibro is a disablity that meets SS criteria. Will this be denied also? I am so confused and broke and have no ins nor income. If they keep this up, the stress will kill me and they will not have to pay anything. (attempt at humor). Ugh! Has anyone gotten disability for Fibro?

Chasidee,I have two children, and I receive 76 dollars a month per child,or 156.00 total. And my benefit is 780.00 a month. So I did not receive 50% of my benefit for my children, although I was under the impression I would. Im not sure how they compute how much you get for your children, but it is a seperate application, and you have to ask to apply for your children,I just assumed they would give me the money I was owed for my children, but that was not the case. I had to call my local my SSD office, and they took the application over the phone. You may also need to send in there birth certificates. There is a cap on how much you can receive for your children, and I do think it is up to 50% of your own monthly benefit. Try calling your local SSD office, and tell them you have minor children, and they will tell you what to do.
