Welcome, I haven't posted in a long time. IDK how active this group is. I just know you aren't alone. I seem aloof to others and it is me being shy, nervous. Thanks for sharing and I hope you come back.

Waterfalling, I know!! I get that too and it couldn't be more opposite than who I really am or who I'm even trying to come off as. My shyness or social anxiety rubs some people as mean or even stuck-up and I don't understand what it is I'm doing that's giving that impression! Ahh.. that bothers me a lot.

I'm an Advocate

And if they don't think you're mean, then you're a snob. Lose/lose.
May I be guided to accept others who may differ from me and always separate opinion from fact. I insist that others put the benefit of the group before anything else, regardless of a well meaning agenda. If what you say is a fact, you can back it up. If not, it's opinion and should be called that. The safety of members is paramount.

I think that's common with Social Anxiety. I've been accused of being "stuck up" my entire life. It makes it even harder to reach out to people.

Yep, I have a very similar problem, though the phrase "You're rude" is often thrown at me. I don't even have any intention of coming off that way; it's just how people perceive my behavior.

It is COMMON with SA, people think you are STUCK UP or MEAN...it's unfortunate. You're not alone in this, but you can get better, you can heal.
