Well,I have to share this, to me this is what friends is all about,Its a tribute to me & almost made me cry,Sad & pee my pants hehe.

thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being here on this site in my time of need. Needing to quit smoking for alot of years and reasons. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, will be 9 months, smoke-free for me. What better way to celebrate the festivities! Here, today there is one special person I would like to thank for all the support and effort she makes, daily! My sweet friend, jojo from NYC. She is one of the first people I met here on this site on my first day here. JoJo, everyday I think of you and know that you are an amazing person dealing with the struggles you deal with, daily! I remember when I logged on and you thought that maybe some-one was impersonating you with the same name! That was so funny to read in print and I couldn't wait to let you know that I too was a real person and had just quit smoking! Honey, always remember, you can never be imitated for you are a rare and wise person and I think the amount of effort and love you pour into this quest is forever imprinted in my mind and heart. Please, I mean this in the most sincere way, you remind me of my dear mother so much in your life and struggles. Although you are much younger and for this, I am very Thankful!

JOJO congrats on 9 months! I feel the same about the other jojo (or are you the other jojo/ LOL)

I think and pray for her daily AND have thought and even told her she reminds me of MY mom!

9 months JoJo! That is wonderful. I remember the name mixup - jojo was so cute and funny just being her.

Have a wonderful thanksgiving.

I am new to this site and just wondered if you were scared to quit? I am not sure that makes sense but I am scared I will fail...

Theresa 2 days ag

Theresa- i am also afraid to quit as i have brain cancer and dont know how long i have left and it is like why try. I have smoked for 25 years and am 51 years old. Right now i smoke less then one cig a day but it is a daily struggle with much prayer reading true spiritual things like the bible and meditating a lot.

Thanks for sharing, JoJo! How funny that you would think somebody was copycatting you! LOL! It's so important that we become stronger here and contribute more so that by helping others we help ourselves. Folks, when you write out your feelings, experiences, and challenges, you are not only helping yourselves A LOT but you are helping one another! Please WRITE! Tell us how you are doing (even several times a day!) But when you sit back and hope for words of wisdom to save your quit that is not active participation which is what the quit process needs. Reactionary wrote in regularly those first days and got her quit launched and now she checks in to let us know that she's still on track! Quitting is a PROCESS not an EVENT! You have to nourish it for it to get started and survive! We're all in this together!
My advice is purely personal! I am not a medical professional and there is no substitute for getting Medical diagnosis and advice!
