Well that is just horrible Vickie. I see now. I read your other post and thought perhaps they couldn't get a reading. So you had 35 episodes in a hour of sleep. That sound pretty serious to me. Have you spoke with them about how uncomfortable you are with taking these tests? Perhaps they could come up with a few things that could make you feel more comfortable. Such as no camera. I think I remember someone else stating that this is an option you have.

They are no picnic, that's for sure. I guess they will bother some more than others. They didn't effect me the same way that it has effected you. Hope you have a better time with this next test.

Please let us know how it goes for you.

Yea.....Vickie

I wound up in the hospital by route of 911 when I took my second sleep apnea test. And I had to sleep over at the hospital while they tried to determine if I had a heart attack.

The people administering the test did not even know how to run the vpap machine.

And guess what - I had to go back for a third test. And they still did not know what they were doing. And here we are a year later and the doctor told me , when I asked shoud I get another test - hell no - they still do not know what they are doing.

Try relaxing after they put you into a condition so bad that you cannot breathe at all. I called out for help 10 times and no one came in to help me until about 15 minutes later.

Good luck.

Raoul

I'm an Advocate

I can understand your fear Vickie. I'm going through the same thing...I'm awaiting my results from the sleep study, in the meantime, I'm scared to death to sleep because my family has told me either I snore them to bits or scare them to bits when I stop breathing in my sleep. I still don't have my machine, but luckily I do have a buckwheat pillow that seems to help. I pray I get my CPAP soon, so I can get a good nights sleep. I hope you have your machine asap too! Going without sleep is not only exhausting, but how are we supposed to function properly, that's what I wanna know!

Hoping all is well for you soon Vickie!

Sonni have you tried the breath right strips that you use on your nose? While you are waiting you might give them a shot, I use to use them and they really did help, and sometimes waiting for those machines takes forever I know it wouldn't be as good as a cpap but it will help keep the air flow open a little better, vickie you could try it to for now and see if it helps any for you as well..

The cpap will be worth it Vickie.. there will be some trial and error but you need to be able to sleep and this will be the best route for you, you are going to need that extra energy to keep yourself going through college hon!
