My sleep got messed up by watching my older daughters dog while she vacationed. Then my younger daugher had a medical emergency and I was up all night in the er. This past 9 days I have troouble falling asleep and sleeping through the night. I take my meds but I just cant seem to get back to my reg. sleeping habits. I dont use caffeine so I know that isnt doing it. Any suggestions? It is getting bad. I think I might be gettingnarcolepsy as I am starting to fall asleep at random times now. Please help.

I am using my CPAP but I end up turning it off because Im just not sleeping.

Smile Hey Angel, is the dog still around? how about your youngest, is she feeling better? you could just be suffering from the side effects of the stress, call your doctor and see if there is something that they could recommend to help you sleep, a sleepy time tea is good to for helping you relax.

Sorry I never was told this had been answered. I am taking celexa for sleep, zanaflex for muscle spasms, neurontin for nerve pain, etodalac (sp) for fibro and ra the other meds are for other ailments. The dog is back at my older daughters house. My younger daughter mostly needs to get iron level back up. She is severely anemic so it will take time to get it back to normal. I cant take ambien because insurance wont pay for it. My dr. told me the problem is that my sleep got messed up. It takes time to get it back. She did tell me my muscles and pinched nerves are getting worse again. Hopefully I will get it back to gether again soon. I am trying to not sleep at all during day. it is hard since if I sit I am falling asleep. Thanks.

Think about what your sleep routine used to be. Did you go to bed at the same time every night? Did you do anything to help induce sleep? like a warm bath before bedtime or reading to relax ect. If you had a routine and are not really doing it know it may be part of it. I think stress is probably a part of it too because you know when your children are sick you just can't relax enough to sleep. You had a big scare with your daughter that fear isn't just going to go away it will take time for you to feel you can go to sleep and not worry about her as much. think about it didn't her accident happen during the night. Masybe your subconcious is fighting sleep because your worried if you sleep something will happen again.

Your right Snoopy.I used to go in my jacuzzi before bed and sometimes read. Ill have to start doing that again. I am so lucky to have so many supportive people here. Im glad you guys came through for me. I did fall asleep when sitting. Trouble is I cant stand up all day. Anyway Ill try using the tub and reading. that should help. Getting those 10 trigger points in today should help too.

Hey Angel, you can start feeding your daughter lots of foods high in iron, one thing she might eat with out complaining it total cereal, sound weird I know, but when I was expecting, I could not take the prenatal iron pills, so I ate a bowl of total everyday and it brought my iron up.. look on line for foods high in iron..

Snoopy is right if you are doing something different from what you use to do, that is probably what messed up your sleeping through the night.

Well last night I made it through 4 hours. That is a great start again. Now I should be getting back together. I put in nice bath salts for achy muscles last night and stayed and soaked. I read a chapter in a book.Next thing I knew after CPAP on I was in lala land. Thanks everyone for your help.
