Thanks Tiner!

I thinks that helps explain it a lot better. I do agree that it feels that way on a cpap. I asked them to lower the pressure...and they told me they couldn't cause the pressure was only a 10 and that that was low.

It stills feels like I'm competing with the machine!

I hope he suggested this cause when I asked about the differences...he was vague!

Imagine that...a doctor being vague! (sarcastism)

Thanks for the explaintion!

Your the greatest!

Hi friends

Hubby and I have used a cpap for 2 years. I went through all kinds of mask (size is very important) before I hit on the one for me. Hubby liked his right off. men...enough said.

You know you have a button on your machine that starts the air slowly and then builds up to the higher pressure. I think it takes about 10 mins. Much more comfy than a blast in face all at once.

I was interested in bpap after I read it here...I had never heard of it before. So I looked it up. Seems it is used for folks thay have congested heart failure or COPD. So I don't know without these kinds of illnesses if one can have it.

Hugs to all

I'm an Advocate

Bits, you can. I don't have any of those things. I got mine after I told them that I just couldn't handle that wind in my face all the time. You should ask about it, unless of course you're perfectly happy with your cpap. Then why bother.

Fessy, they lied to you! LOL! 10 is not low. It's about medium. Shhh.... Don't tell anyone. I know how to change the pressures!!!! I can do it on the cpap and the bipap.

Bilevel hugs, Tina

OMGoodness! She is so smart! They lied to me! How dare they!

I bet 14 would be high then. Don't ya think Bits?

That's so funny you said that about you hubby, I just started a funny's thread for us over here. You know like the one we have in fibro "need a laugh". I called it "Want to hear a funny?". Not a cute but it works. Go read it for me, please!

You'll crack up! It about that very thing you just said about your hubby!

Hugs

Haven't checked this forum in a while! I've finally gotten a pain specialist that seems open to my problems and is willing to provide the meds. I now take Tramadol (which I do believe is evil), gabapentin (one at night and one during the day if needed) and methocarbonal, which is a muscle relaxant (half a one at night and half during the day if needed).

I have cut down on the tramadol. That stuff is hard to get off of---I had been taking up to six a day. I am down to one at night, but I have lots of problems if I don't take it early enough---not pain, but a reaction to not having it..........become very squirmy and very uncomfortable.

I know meds make me sleepy and that's why I fall asleep during the day............I have reached the point where I sleep in the car and wake up and don't know where I am AND talk foolishly as I wake up. I have started taking something to help me sleep at night and I suspect that pill is doing it....amatripolin or something like that. Too lazy to look it up. I really would like to stay awake during the day.........
