I don't know. I'm still waiting for the autopsy, uh, biopsy, results to come back on the squamous cell thing on my scalp. Meanwhile I'm supposed to use some kind of cream on the rest of my head for the actinic keratosis I have there (which *might* be what you've got). The cream costs over $600. So I will just have to keep my actinic keratosis and hope it doesn't produce another cancer....

How long for possible basal cell removal to heal? I had a bump next to nose removed with excesion, about 11 days ago, like pencil eraser size. It was pretty deep would, she put no stiches however. Its filled in a good bit, pink around edges, sort of white in middle but is starting to slightly bleed some almost all the time, sort of oozes blood on the baindaid or mixed in with the polysporin gell. I am really worried if this means something bad? Why would it start now and not in the beginning?...

Hi Debbie,
I am very sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
I much surprised, that you couldn`t get rid of the sun bed addiction after the first time you had melanoma! Well, no judgement for you, I just am surprised, cuz with all the people I have talked (who had been suffering from melanoma) they are more scared from sun than anything in the whole world!
As I understand, you are cancer-free now, right?
Anyhow, giving all my support and best wishes to you!...

My mother was recently diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. My mom's is metastatic and has moved to her liver. She is awaiting more tests to see if it is anywhere else in her body. She had a benign skin cancer removed from her neck last summer, but we didn't expect this. I have to admit, I'm a little frightened. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar story. It's a little harder to find information on metastatic squamous cell carcinoma because it only happens in 2%-10% of cases....

My name is Pat and I am 55 years old. I was just diagnosed with BCC on my lower eyelid. The biopsy was done and it was positive. Surgery date is March 16 and I am a wreck about this. I have a list of questions to ask this Dr. He mentioned that my eye may be sewn shut to help the healing process. I have 12 Grandchildren and 4 of them are under 2 years old. Where he did the biopsy is now a crater as the scab finally fell off today. I am having soooo many mood swings and it doesn't take muc...

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I went to the doctor Friday afternoon. She told me, Thank God!, that what I have is not cancerous. I have a tendency to get red bumps which are a collection of tiny blood vessels (can't remember now what they are called) but that's what this is. Whew! I was very scared!
