MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

Not really a total surprise as I've had eye problems for years and got an SLE diagnosis in January. I had high ANA and anti-SS blood results. I went to my eye dr. for allergy symptoms and he told me my cornea was dry. Rheumatologist added Sjogren's Syndrome to my DX last week. Already wear daily disposable contact lenses but find it increasingly difficult to wear them, even using artificial tears. Anyone else dealing with this?

Life is...interesting, at least...

E.

I have dryness problems ranging from moderate to severe but I don't wear contact lenses.

I use eye drops during the day and eye ointment at night.

When the dryness gets real painful I add on heat packs 2x a day for my eyes.

I am not a doctor and my advice is purely my opinion which should be regarded as such!

I dampen a hot wash cloth and apply for 5 mins. and wash my eyes with baby shampoo in the morning. At night I use a hot cloth on my eyes and night gel. Also a humdifer to keep moister in the room. Yeah most members here have there own techniques so hope you find a routine that works best for you.
