MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

I'm an Advocate

Hi Group!

I'm wondering how you all are doing with weather changes, because it seems my symptoms are worsening...

My eyesight is getting more acute and yet in the sun, the brightness feels blinding.

My hearing is so great now that I can be on the opposite side of the house, my bedroom door closed and I can still hear my parent's tv. My mother refuses to wear her hearing aid (it costs too much to buy batteries she says--jiminy christmas!)

My sense of smell is even coming back, I can smell things I haven't smelled in a long time, but can't yet distinguish what it is I smell.

I'm thinking...with my newfound "super-powers" I could be a super-hero, once I lose all this weight of course I wouldn't be caught dead in a leotard right now! Laughing

Have a happy Sunny week

Sonni

lol... I'd love to see myself in a leotard with a cape.

Actually, it has turned off very cool and damp here, which is kicking my Raynaud's up a notch or two. My hands and feet really hurt. But it has also been really sunny when I've had to go out and drive, and my eyes are so strained, even with the dark wrap-around glasses. I took a self-portrait pic the other day, and my eyes are really red. With turquoise irises, I look a bit freaky.

I'm glad things seem to be improving for you. Have you had trouble with hearing before? I know that I seem less and less able to make sense of thing, but when I've had my hearing tested, they say I'm fine.
