Was diagnosed with shingles 2 1/2 weeks ago. Had it on the left side on my face. Blisters and scabs now gone, but tingling and numbness still present. Started getting extreme pain "attacks" or "episodes" a week ago. At first, I had one a day. Three days ago, they increased to two a day, and today so far, I've had four episodes, lasting a minute or so each. I went to a doctor yesterday and he prescribed lyrica, 150 mg. I started it yrsterday, and have had 4 doses so far. But with 4 "episodes" so far today, I'm not sure if I'm giving the drug enough time, or if it is not effective.
