I was diagnosed with facial shingles today. After reading some of the discussions here, I am scared to death. I thought they would just go away and I would be fine. Now I'm reading about nerve damage, people being in pain for months....and years. I have 4 seperate spots....one on the side of my nose that is a rather large bump that is mostly under the skin. I have 2 that look more like a blister and one right in the middle of the very bottom of my nose (above my lip) that is very painful. Actually the whole area hurts like hell. My eyeball is irritated and red, my face hurts and I have had a headache every day for the past week. I'm not looking forward to the next stages. Makes me just wanna die. Migraine headaches since age 11, arthritis and bulging disks in the c3-c7 area of my neck, scar tissue on my left foot that keeps me from doing anything involving being on my feet for long. Depression since about the age of 18, anxiety and anxiety attacks. Sleep apnea (I use my Bipap religiously)I still have daytime sleepiness occasionally......
