MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Hello, my name is Sarah and our baby boy Kaleb was shaken at 8 months old on April 18th 2008 by his child care provider. Kaleb has suffered mild brain damage but continues to amaze us everyday! It has been 6 months since our nightmare began and I have not yet talked to or met any other SBS Families.

Hi Sarah, my name is Marialena and I have two daughters, Leena who is 9 years old and Alissa who is 6 years old. We just moved to Antioch,California from Hawaii in search for better medical opportunities for Alissa. Alissa was a victim of SBS 6 years ago and suffered an acquired brain injury(closed head injury)tremendously in the hands of here biological father. Well, that was 6 years ago and Alissa is progressing slowly. Alissa is severely developmentally delayed, has cognitive deficits in all areas of learning, has a right hemiplegia, no right visual field and no speech. Its been really tough waking up every morning to her special needs, I mean, I can deal with it, but when I think of her future it saddens me. However, Im always reminded by God that when I leave things in his hand, anything is possible through faith. But, thats my problem, we physically see our circmstances and I try to make everything better by myself, and when I do that I get very weary, my body aches from all the worries of dealing with medical services and their paper work, its crazy. Still, I realize as a human flesh we will eventually get tired and broken down. But, God never gets tired or weary, God is almighty, and because of Gods love, mercy and compassion he will once again come to my rescue. Im so confident that when we call upon Gods Love and Grace in time of need he will hear us!

Just needed to share that thought.

Much love, Marialena

Hi Sarah. I am Gabrielle. I am so sorry for what's happened your son and family. My son was shaken on May 17, 2007. I am new to this site and am looking to connect with familes, share stories and gain any and all the information I can, as well as offer any advice I can. I pray that you and your son (and family) are handling things ok. If you would like to talk about anything, please don't hesitate to contact me or just post a reply back. I definately could use interaction with adults who know what I'm going through. I hope you have a blessed day and Merry Upcoming Christmas to you and your family.
