I have not read any of them yet but "Out of the Shadows" is his first and most famous book. It explains the basics of our addiction and is designed to educate the public in general but (I've been told) is also good for someone just starting in his or her recovery. I have also heard good things about both the one you mentioned and "A Gentle Path Through the 12 Steps" is acknowledged as an excellent guide for anyone in a 12-step program. If you have one such program in your area and have not yet tried it, I highly recommend it.

I am in both SA and SAA. If none of the "S" groups are in your area, you could also go to an AA meeting. I have never been to one but many people in my group have and they say it helps a lot. You do not have to disclose what your addiction is if you are uncomfortable with it.

I have read both "Out of the Shadows" and "Don't Call it Love" I would encourage you to read both...

but since your question is which one to begin with, I recommend starting with "Out of the Shadows"

Overcoming Love Addiction is another good one, and it's by P. Melody.

Oops, I meant to say "Facing Love Addiction" by Pia Melody. Great one.

For me there is no better book than the Sexaholics Anonymous "White book" which was written by people with this addiction. I have read most of the other "psychology" books but nothing compares to the books written by true addicts. The Alcoholics Anonymous book " The Big Book" is amazing even though it is written to the Alcoholic everything can be applied to the Sexaholic.

THank you everyone. I bought Dont call it love and out of shadows, also a devotional that i heard about called Answers in the Heart.

I've been reading Dont call it love for some months now. It is very helpful.
