I get asked often why i have so many issues in my life and in personal relationships. The following is part of the reasons why. I have lived in SC since i was 3 wks old, reading this story made me cringe at all the women i have known that were killed and made me very thankful that i have survived all the hell in my life.

S.C. No. 2 in Nation for Women Killed by Men

According to a report released today by the Violence Policy Center in Washington, D.C., South Carolina ranks second in the nation for the number of women killed by men.

The report comes just four days before advocacy and awareness groups across the nation mark the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness month, which takes place in October.

Nevada is ranked No. 1 in the survey.

According to the report, the average age of a women killed by a man in SC is 41. 98 percent of women were murdered by someone they knew and of the victims who knew their offenders, 63 percent were wives, common-law wives, ex-wives, or girlfriends of the offenders. The most common weapon used was handguns.

South Carolina’s standing in the survey is based on the most recent statistics from the FBI.

Scary too to me as I am your upstairs neighbor in NC. This area has become so desperate.

I hear them nightly. Oh to live in Canada. That would be cool. I've never been there, but have been really impressed, for awhile, by it.

Sadly the worst the economy gets here the worse the crime in all areas of law gets.

That is pretty interesting but it doesn't surprise me. I am from Georgia and I grew up in a small town. Everyone has a gun and we all learn how to shoot. I am not sure what we rank but I know it is a problem here as well. SC also usually ranks somewhere near Georgia (which at the bottom) is educational outcomes..I think that plays a role as well.
