MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

I'm sick of this. It is Saturday but but I got yesterday's mail a few minutes ago and got a letter saying they took a way my state Medicaid, which I have because of other disabilities, mainly epilepsy and Asperger's that keep me from workng full time.

Now what? I take an antiseizure medicine twice a day. I take an anti-anxiety a couple times a week and my pain killer is prescription because nothing else works. How am I supposed to afford that? I teach. I just got a job where I am on call at a day care in the summer and I plan on making that my main job and quitting teaching (I teach 3 hours a day in the school year, it will be 3 hours and 15 minutes this coming one).

It's only been a week since I self-injured. So it isn't like I can say I am over that habit.

And since it is a weekend, I can't call, deal with the paper you sign if you want a hearing, or do anything about it. I'm sick of it, mad, and about to call someone because I am not sure I can make it through being alone without SI.

I can totally understand how you feel, for sure. I live in Seattle, and I must tell you, that running through hoops to keep medicaid, medicare, social security, section 8 housing, dept of social services, etc., has added more to my anxiety than they have treated!

It just seems on days that overwhelm us with choices and what-if's seem to pile up when government agencies have to decide who pays for what. I really wish they made it simpler for folks, instead of becoming a hindrance to our healing.

I am very glad you found this site and are posting how you feel. That fact alone, I hope, lets off the steam a bit and lets you know you are SO NOT ALONE in this maze of crap that the agencies put us through, and life in general. Smile

You are taking steps to better your life, despite the obstacles in your way and I, for one, SALUTE YOU!!! (wild applause!)

Celebrating successes, the small ones and the big, is what keeps me from becoming overwhelmed. Feeling the joy of what I can control and understanding what is out of my control (for the moment) took me more than 12 years to understand and I'm JUST NOW really able to apply it.

So, I totally can feel how you feel, in a way.

I hope you keep posting and let us know how things are progressing.

May your day ease into evening gently and may sleep reach out with a warm hand to soothe away the day's strains.

Your friend,

xElizabethx
