Hello, my name is Patrick. Some of you know me, but for the rest, I have bipolar II, and I self-harm (obviously, as that's the name of the group). My preferred method is burning myself with cigarettes. I prefer this to cutting because of the sustained pain this causes, and cuz it hurts worse while doing it. I've been doing this since I was 13 or 14 years old, when I was also diagnosed originally with bp. My stepfather refused treatment for me, and it wasn't until 2009 that I got rediagnosed and started on meds for it. I'm glad there's a specific group for this, as even people with bipolar don't often understand where we come from as self-harmers. Anyway, thanks in advance for having me.
