hello everyone my name is angel. i am 21 years old. and last year i found out i have mild scoliosis. ive dealt with that part but im having problems dealing with the pain. i also have other problems such as scaitica and arthritis and tendonitis. ive a very outgoing and caring person. its nice to be in a support group for this because maybe i can learn new things about it to help me cope with it.

Hi angel my name is Deb I am new to this. I Have had scoliosis for twenty years and I have the harrington rod in my back need to talk I am here.

my drs told me that i would need to go through physical therapy not sure how that is going to help but thats one thing that i still havent done yet because its so expensive and if i do have to get that rod in my back i am going to be scared to death.

You say that you have mild scoliosis. They usually don't need to do the Surgery unless it is severe. When I had it my curve of my spine was 89%. They probably want you to have therapy to help streghten your back. Do you know what your percentage is.

they didnt give me any percentage just told me that it was a mild case

If they are saying it is just a mild case then I really don't think you ever have to worry about having the rod put in.

I was 13years old when I had the surgery and I know that it was the best thing for me I know that I would not be living the way I am. Like I said they only do the surgery for severe cases. Have they even talked about a back brace. Many people have scoliosis but don't really have anything to worry about because the curve is so small.

nothing but therapy thats it but i havent been to a dr about it since i found out that i had it so i may need one not sure.

They have changed their back braces since I had to have one so it's not so bad now.
